All you need to know about getting your minor a piercing

Hello, I am always happy that I get the opportunity to give your child an amazing piercing experience. There are a lot of laws, guidelines, and rules that mandate what I can pierce and what I need in order to perform piercings for your child.


 This page will help you navigate the ins and outs and the dos and don'ts!

Piercings I can perform on minor children and the ages I can perform them

8 years old and up

Earlobe  piercings

12 years old and up

Outer helix piercings (what most people call cartilage piercings)

16 years old and up

Any piercing except nipple piercings, dermal anchors, surface piercings, cheek piercings, bridge piercings, or genital piercings. 

18 years old and up

Any Piercing with the exception of genital piercings. I unfortunately no longer offer genital piercings as a service. 


Paperwork I need in order to pierce your minor child.

A Parent or legal guardian must be present and on the premises during the piercing

Children's ears ages 8-15

I will need the parents State or federally issued picture ID as well as the Childs birth certificate. The parents first and last name must match on the birth certificate as well as their ID. 

If it does not match, such as in the case of divorce or remarriage, then I'll need a divorce  decree or marriage license showing why the names are different.

Minor piercings age 16 and up

I will need both the parent and the child need to have state or federally issued picture Id with matching last names and addresses.

If the last names and or addresses do not match then I will also need the Childs birth certificate, the parents name must match on their ID and the birth certificate  (first and last name). 

If it does not match, such as in the case of divorce or remarriage, then I'll need a divorce  decree or marriage license showing why the names are different.

Important notes

All paperwork/IDs must be original, we cannot accept copies or photos of paperwork/IDs.

All IDs must be up to date, we cannot accept expired licenses or passports.


Once a minor is 16 years of age I have to have a state or federally issued picture ID for them.



Forms of IDs we can accept-

Drivers license

Passport

Military ID

State Identification card

State or federally issued Picture ID with birth date


Paperwork I can use in cases of Legal Guardianship-

Court order signed and sealed by a judge.
